Analysis of Linear Elastic Fracture Mechanics for Cracked Functionally Graded Composite Plate by Enhanced Local Enriched Consecutive-interpolation Elements

This paper reports the application of consecutive-interpolation procedure into four-node quadrilateral elements for analysis two-dimensional cracked solids made functionally graded composite plate. Compared to standard finite element method, recent developed has been shown possess many desirable features, such as higher accuracy and smooth nodal gradients it still satisfies Kronecker-delta property keeps total number degrees freedom unchanged. The discontinuity in displacement fields along crack faces stress singularity around tips are mathematically modeled using enrichment functions. Heaviside function is employed describe jump, while four branch functions being from asymptotic taken basis capture singularities. interesting characteristic functionall plate spatial variation material properties which intentionally designed be served particular purposes. Such account during computation Stress Intensity Factors (SIFs). Performance proposed approach demonstrated verified through various numerical examples, SIFs compared with reference solutions derived other methods available literatures.
